If you synchronise your Windows Mobile device with Outlook. Then your birthdays will automatically be inserted, as an all day event on the date of the birthday. With the ever helpful age of the person on there birthday, displayed in brackets. All very nice and helpful.
However, with growing numbers of Windows Mobile users, not synchronise there devices. This helpful reminder is missing. Even if you enter the persons birthday into there contact information.
So here's a little how-to, for getting reminder and the age of the person displayed.
Open the Calendar on your Windows Mobile device. Tap on the soft "Menu" button, then "Go to Date".
On the small calendar which appears, tap on the year and enter the year of the persons birthday. Then using the arrows to the left and right. Change the month to the month you need, and finally tap on the date of the birthday.
Again tap on the soft "Menu" button, then "New Appointment". On the familiar appointment window. Put in the perons name in the "Subject". Change "All Day" to yes. Then change "Occurs" to "Every December 27" of course 27 Dec will be the date your using. For "Categories", "Status" etc just change then to your needs. Setting a reminder for a day or two, before hand is a good idea. Tap "Ok" to save the appointment.
Now on the date of the persons birthday, it be display with the age of the person on there birthay!
Fingers crossed you'll not get into as much trouble, this year forgetting bithdays and ages.
