Looking for a better way to manage the photos that people e-mail you as attachments?
3. Step 1 - Enter the e-mail addresses where you receive photo attachments from friends/family (up to 3 e-mail addresses)
4. Step 2 - Enter a secret word that will be hard for people to guess, but easy to remember
5. Step 3 - Select the photo album that you created in #1 above and type in a short word in the blank field
6. Step 4 - Select whatever you wish (this is only relevant for blogging from your phone to your Space) - Photos publish immediately
7. Step 5 - Find the e-mail address that matches your secret word from #4 and your short word from #5 (see NOTE 1 below)
8. Click the "Save" button
9. Now next time you receive photo attachments at one of the e-mail addresses entered in #3 - Step 1, then simply forward it to the e-mail address in #7 - Step 5 (see NOTE 2 below)
You can test that everything is set up properly by doing the following:
10. Go to an e-mail account you listed above in #3 - Step 1
11. Create a new e-mail and attach one or more photos
12. Set the To field to the e-mail address from #7 - Step 5 for the photo album you created above in #1 (see NOTE 2 below)
13. Click send
14. Check the intended photo album in Windows Live to view the photos or share them
NOTE 1: The final e-mail address format is: <<windowsliveid>>.<<album word>>.<<secret word>>@spaces.live.com
NOTE 2: To prevent having to return to the e-mail publishing page each time, save this e-mail address to your contacts with an easy to remember name like "Windows Live Photo Album"
REPORTED ISSUE: I tried this with AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo!, and for me it didn't work from Yahoo! for some reason, but did with the others. I have reported this to Microsoft, but I'm not sure if the issue lies with Microsoft or Yahoo!
I've been waiting for this feature to come out, and now I'm so happy I have a great way to get the photos out of my inboxes and share them.
