As always with any mobile device, there’s the problem of battery life.  Whatever you do to ensure the battery is fully charged, before you go out.  There’s always that one day, which always turns out to be the most important day ever.  When the battery cannot hack the pace and your Windows Mobile device is notifying you of the low battery status.  So what are the solutions to the problem.

  • Carry a spare main charger around?  Well good option, but it’s yet another lump in your bag or worse in your pocket.
  • Carry a spare battery around?  Well instant way of getting back to 100%(if you remember to charge the spare battery) charge.  Down side the cost of a spare battery.

Well now days your never far away from a USB port.  So I always carry a small USB cable and only costs a couple of £/$’s.  The one I have is only about 6 inches long.  So no problems with it getting all knotted up in your pocket.  Then while your out, to get a just connect to a USB port to get a charge up.  Don’t forget not just PC’s have USB ports.  Games consoles do to, xbox 360, Playstation 2/3’s and Wii.  Even some HiFi’s have a USB port on the front.  So you can just connect for a quick charge of your Windows Mobile device.

If your concerned about connecting to a alien PC, and the PC starting to install drivers and sync to your device.  Then there is the option of a mini USB Sync and Charge Cable with on/off switch.  The switch disables the sync, thus just lets you charge your device.  If you wish to be green on your charging, there’s a solar powered one with a built in battery.
