Window’s Live Toolbar
What I want to write about today is getting the most out of your Live Toolbar and organize your favorites online as well as be able to share them with your friends and colleagues. If you do not have this wonderful tool Click Here to obtain it for your computer today!
You can start a search from any page, view live maps and make a comprehensive and organized listing of all your favorite places and have access to them at a simple click of a button!
Collect Some Favorites
If you will notice right below your Live Toolbar is a couple of stars that appear on the left side of your tab(s). One of the starts has a plus emblem on it. This is the one you will want to click on to add a site to your favorites. The plain Gold star is the one that will allow you to view your favorites and customize them into categories and such!
When I click on just the plain Gold Star this is what you will see below!
Notice in the illustration to the left that I now have all of my favorites available to me to select from!
The advantage of storing your favorites online through your Live Toolbar is that in the event of a system crash and you have to restore your computer, you will not have to spend hours trying to find all of your favorite sites you enjoy visiting!
Shared or Private
From your Live Toolbar and next to the Gold Star use the drop down arrow to get more services. In the illustration below I will show you how you can choose to share your favorites or make them private!
As you can see in my illustration on the left you can see that some of my favorites are listed as shared and some are listed as private.
This is essential for those who choose to share their favorites by utilizing the favorites module available in Live Spaces. You do not have to show everything but only the items you desire to make public.
Changing them from shared to private is as simple as a click! In the column for sharing if it says shared, click on it and it will then be changed to private.
Organizing Your Favorites
Ok so now you have a whole list of favorites along with several categories. What if you want to move one favorite into another category? This is a very simple process! Take a closer look at my illustration below!
Ok, you identify one of your favorites that you wish to locate into another folder or category! Check the box next to the item you desire to re-locate then click on “Move”. This will bring a drop down menu of all your categories and sub folders, merely locate the one you desire for your selected category to appear in and click on it and it will not be nested in that location! Simple yet and effective way to organize your favorites.
Add A Favorite or A Folder
This is a simple task to achieve….merely click on the button that says “Add” from there you can choose to add a favorite, add a folder import your favorites from another location!
Another cool feature you can do from here is to sort your favorites by “Tags” and you all by now should realize how important the use of “Tags” are. Microsoft allows you to tag your items with certain “Keywords"" to help you better identify your items you are searching for, thus eliminating you having to search through everything!
So start adding your favorites today via Live Toolbar and get organized! Just another one of the many fine products that Microsoft has put into action for you to keep your life and things of importance to you at your fingertips.
As you begin to use more and more Microsoft Product's you will notice that many of them have similar or same features. This is to help you be able to better navigate and operate independent programs without having to learn a great deal of knowledge to make them work for you! Simplification and refinement is what Microsoft is all about! Making products that "You" the everyday user can use and enjoy for many years to come!
