As Messenger celebrates its 10th birthday, I celebrate my first.  For years I used Yahoo! as my instant messaging tool of choice.  I began using both products a little over a year ago.  Since I learned how to import my YIM contacts into Messenger I’m a one product guy.  Messenger allows me to keep all of my contacts in one place, integrates with Office and allows me to communicate easier with my friends.  If I had one wish for Messenger it would be to add an enhancement that would allow you and a friend to sync and watch video together.  It’s a nice feature when you and a friend want to check out the latest on YouTube or Soapbox. (Maybe the feature exists today, but I haven’t found it.) ;)

Plus! for Messenger is also a nice add-on.  I like some of the additional functionality it provides such as the ability to check all my email accounts, lock Messenger, Chat history, Auto-Responders and personalized status settings.  Keeping me updated on my friends statuses are a big plus.  I live several states away from the closest of my family members and we keep in contact almost solely through Messenger and email.

In short, Happy Birthday with wishes of many more to come as it continues to grow every year.
