The next thing that you might like to do is add a Blog entry to your new SPACE. What exactly is a blog? Well, there are many different views regarding what a BLOG actually is, perhaps you might like to do a search using WINDOWS LIVE SEARCH using the word BLOG. See here for the Wikipedia definition of what a BLOG is.
1. From your HOME page, click on MORE, select SPACES from the drop down list and then from your SPACES PAGE just click on WRITE A BLOG ENTRY to be taken to a compose page.
2. First of all, you need to give your post or BLOG a title, so fill in the TITLE box. NOTE. You must give your BLOG a title. Then you can choose a CATAGORY for you post. You can choose from the default ones already provided or you can make your own CATAGORY. Lets say that you plan to include some recipes on your blog in the future for others to be able to find amongst all your other posts. It will be a very good idea to make a CATAGORY called RECIPES to enable this so
3. Click on the blue ADD A CATAGORY, and type into the box RECIPES then just click on ADD and your new CATAGORY will then be available in future for any RECIPES that you place in your SPACE.
4. Now you can begin typing into the compose area. You can simply leave it at the default FONT or you can choose to use a different FONT from the drop down list. I like to use Comic Sans so I will choose that one.
5. You can also add some smiley's into your text to help express how you are feeling at that point in time or to emphasize some point that you are trying to make. They also help to ‘break up’ the text as well so that it doesn’t become too heavy and boring to read.
6. Once you are happy with your entry then just click on PUBLISH ENTRY and your new blog will then be added to your SPACE.
However I would encourage anyone new to blogging to download WINDOWS LIVE WRITER to their desktop, as then composing and publishing to your WINDOWS LIVE SPACE including inserting pictures into your text or story, having your text ‘wrap around’ your pictures etc are all really easy to do. You can get it by clicking on the blue DOWNLOAD FOR FREE at the bottom of the compose page, or from HERE.
