Mobile Phones have had camera for years, but they are getting better and better all the time.  My new phone has a brilliant 5mp camera and shoots in 1600x1400 resolution.  Huge.

If you have a windows mobile phone with a camera, then you've got a powerful tool to record those precious moments and upload them to Spaces instantly.  Last week I was in the stunning Lake District (click for Live Maps location).

This part of the UK, is just so beautiful it's beyond words.  I love it, I love it with all my heart and I can't thank God enough for giving it to us.  It's stunning, simply stunning.

I took lots of pics on my Touch HD phone, but sadly as we're still in winter here (nearly spring though! Open-mouthed) some of the photo's came out a bit dark as well as the fact that their wasn't much sunlight around.  Anyway, take a look at the pics in my SkyDrive under 'Lake District Feb 2009' or by clicking the links and pics below:

Also, the perfect song to accompany this brilliant memory and part of the world is a song called “Long Vacation” by Gold Panda, again teamed with WMP Mobile, you can listen to this and other songs all day long, especially when climbing the beautiful mountains of the Lakes.

As you can see, with Live Writer, I’m able to embed a Live Maps map to show everyone where exactly I was.  I’ve also added some pics in a very graphical fan spread layout which is very nice to look at.  What would be even cooler is if you could ‘geo tag’ your photos in Skydrive with a Live Maps, or Multimap GPS position or just by city or place name.  You can already do similar thing on the new HTC Touch Cruise, which as a feature called “Footprints”.  This enables you do take photos of a location and Geo Tag them with the devices built in GPS receiver as well as record the sounds from that location and write a small note about it.

I think that if a similar feature was added to SkyDrive and Live Photo’s it would make the recording of memories that much easier and if we ever struggled to remember where exactly it was we were then a embedded live map alongside the photo.  It might look something like this:

geotaggin

There is already a similar thing in Live Maps itself, whereby you can add Pushpins and attach an image to it:

This is all well and good, but the two services are un connected.  I was half expecting to see a ‘add from online album’ link in live maps, but I had to upload the image instead.  Yet another feature I’d love to see in windows live!
