For security purposes, we are actually recommended to change our password once awhile. This will keep your credential information more secured. If you have a Live ID, you can set your email password to expire every 72 days. This is a feature provided by Windows Live to make your online live a little more secured. Although you have to do a little more work to change your password every 72 days, but this really will make your account a little more secured.

  1. Go to Windows Live web mail and sign into your account.
  2. On the top right corner, click on Options and click More Options
  3. Under Manage your account, click on View and edit your personal information
  4. Enter your current password and continue
  5. Under Password Reset & Information, click Change to change your password
  6. Fill up the textbox and make sure you check Make my password expire every 72 days
