For security purposes, we are actually recommended to change our password once awhile. This will keep your credential information more secured. If you have a Live ID, you can set your email password to expire every 72 days. This is a feature provided by Windows Live to make your online live a little more secured. Although you have to do a little more work to change your password every 72 days, but this really will make your account a little more secured.
- Go to Windows Live web mail and sign into your account.
- On the top right corner, click on Options and click More Options
- Under Manage your account, click on View and edit your personal information
- Enter your current password and continue
- Under Password Reset & Information, click Change to change your password
- Fill up the textbox and make sure you check Make my password expire every 72 days
