I have only been using writer for a few months and you just cant beat it for blogging to Live Spaces. Oh sure it works with Wordpress, Blogger, Type Pad and more. But Writer really shines when used with Spaces.
Some things I like about writer
- Inserting hyperlinks is as easy as typing in the url. Seems like now readers like to know where they are going before they go there. So just type away
- Picture insertion is a snap and changing the size is easy on the sidebar
- WYSIWYG write it and you see it as it will appear.
- Plugins need I say more
- Tagging lets you tag for providers like del.icio.us and many more.
Writer How to
Like the post subject says here's a how to.
If you have been blogging with writer for some time and have changed your theme in spaces or whatever you blog with, you may be wondering why your theme on writer doesn't update to the new theme. It still works and you can preview your post, but not in the theme you have setup now. Here's how and afterwards you will slap your forehead like I did after looking into it. (Why didn't I think of this sooner.)
Step 1
Click on your blog's or Space name in the right hand corner.
Step 2
Select "Edit blog settings" from the pop up menu.
Step 3
Click on "Update Account Configuration" near the bottom.
Step 4
Sign in and then Windows Live Writer will get the latest updated Style and settings from your space or blog. Click Finish and...
Your Done.
